Facts

In 2011, the year that Onçafari was established, Yara was frequently recorded on the trap cameras and also sighted several times. With the appearance of more jaguars in the region where she lived, Yara moved her territory to another location. Very old jaguars are known to try to avoid conflict with younger jaguars, which was possibly the reason for this transfer of territory. Yarra received her name after a raffle held by the children of the Refúgio Ecológico Caiman.
