Fantasma was the only male present in his territory for almost a year, a time during which he prevented the approach of any other male into the vicinity. Filled with scars – indicative of several fights – Fantasma spent much of his life patrolling and demarcating his territory. His abdominal slackness and well-worn dentition indicated he was of advanced age. Fantasma disappeared in 2013; the team believes he died of natural causes.
