Since October, the Jaguar Parade has been in Belém transforming the city into an open-air art gallery during COP 30! The exhibition features 52 jaguar sculptures, including  42 created by artists from Pará, two from Maranhão, and the remaining pieces from previous editions, all for the purpose of raising awareness about the importance of protecting jaguars and the Amazon’s biodiversity. The artworks are displayed in tourist spots, parks, and squares throughout November, infusing the city with color and reflection at a moment of major international visibility as it hosts global leaders to discuss the planet’s climate future.

In addition to the exhibition, the initiative includes an online charity auction of the sculptures. The auction began on November 12th and runs until December 1st through the iArremate platform with a starting bid of R$5,000.00 and minimum increments of R$500.00. All funds raised will be donated to organizations dedicated to conserving Brazilian biodiversity, including Onçafari. Explore the catalog of sculptures benefiting Onçafari and place your bid here.

The presence of the Jaguar Parade during COP 30 reinforces the importance of conserving jaguars in Brazil, especially in the Amazon, which is home to a significant portion of the species’ population. The purpose of the exhibition is to amplify the global message in defense of the jaguar.

November also marks International Jaguar Day, a period dedicated to raising awareness about the species and promoting conservation efforts, giving the Jaguar Parade heightened significance. The exhibition in Belém extends this moment by turning art into a tool for dialogue and awareness, inviting residents and visitors to reflect on their role in conserving Amazonian wildlife and Brazil’s biodiversity.

The Jaguar Parade is produced by Artery, the organization responsible for connecting artists, sponsors, and environmental-impact groups, promoting the initiative’s mission to unite art, public engagement, and socio-environmental causes in a single movement.
