We were at COP 30 in Belém experiencing intense days of exchanges, learning, and meaningful connections that further strengthened our mission to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable ecotourism in Brazil.
In partnership with Isa Energia, we took part in the dinner âConnections that Inspireâ celebrating the power of partnerships and friendships that drive biodiversity protection and generate positive impact. We also attended the Jaguar Parade launch cocktail, the lecture âFrom Observation to Preservationâ held by the Ministry of Tourism, and the panel âThe Pantanal Resists.â |
| The panel was featured in Folha de S.Pauloâs special COP 30 edition of Papo de Responsa, moderated by Eliane Trindade with the guests Marcella Monteiro de Barros Coelho (Movimento UniĂŁo BR) and Gustavo FigueirĂŽa (Instituto SOS Pantanal).  COP 30 was an opportunity to further increase visibility of Onçafariâs work, reconnect with friends and partners, and create new connections that will help us continue advancing wildlife conservation. | | | | Since October, jaguar sculptures have brought color to BelĂ©m during COP 30 transforming the city into an open air art gallery.
The initiative includes an online charity auction of the sculptures held from November 12 to December 1 with bids starting at R$5,000 via iArremate. The funds raised will be donated to institutions dedicated to conserving Brazilian biodiversity, including Onçafari. Check out which sculptures benefit Onçafari here!
The presence of the Jaguar Parade at COP 30 during the month of November during which International Jaguar Day is celebrated reinforces the importance of conserving the species in Brazil, especially in the Amazon, and broadens this dialogue with the public through art. | | | | | On International Jaguar Day, we celebrate the feline that has inspired our mission from the very beginning. The jaguar is the guardian of Brazilâs biomes as an apex predator essential to ecological balance and a symbol of biodiversity of the Americas.
It all began with Esperança, our first habituated jaguar. She allowed the first close observations, taught us how to watch without interfering, and showed us that responsible ecotourism could be a powerful conservation tool. From her came new stories, new generations, and a deeper understanding of the species.
To ensure that stories like Esperançaâs continue, we also celebrate Giving Tuesday, inviting everyone to support actions that secure the jaguarâs future. Click here and make a difference! | |

| Being recognized among the Best NGOs in Brazil is a cause for great celebration for all of us. The award highlights organizations that excel in management, transparency, sustainability, and governance.
Organized by the Social Certification Platform (Instituto Doar) since 2017, the Best NGOs Award evaluates five major areas: cause and strategy of action, representation and responsibility, management and planning, funding strategy, and communication and accountability.
The award recognizes social initiatives aligned with positive societal transformation and is supported by partners such as Ambev, who help strengthen and expand its reach.
Being among the top 100, in a universe of more than 800,000 NGOs in the country, reinforces the value of our 14-year commitment to biodiversity conservation. | | | | Onçafari has been recognized as one of 26 innovative initiatives highlighted in the document âBrazilian Solutions for Global Challengesâ by the Earthshot Prize, the environmental award created by Prince William in 2020, that is known worldwide for supporting solutions capable of regenerating nature and addressing the climate crisis.
Mario Haberfeld, Onçafariâs CEO, attended the ceremony at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro representing the team and strengthening our connection with other organizations and initiatives transforming the relationship between people and nature. |
