We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Jaguar Rivers Initiative (JRI), a bold and urgent continental effort aimed at restoring, protecting, and reconnecting ecosystems throughout the ParanĂĄ Basin: a biodiversity hotspot shared by Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay.
The initiative, formed through an alliance of four local organizations, including Onçafari, will use rivers as corridors between natural areas, reconnecting fragmented landscapes. It proposes a new vision for the future of conservation: going beyond borders, toward a resilient continent.
Onçafariâs role in this initiative builds on what weâve been doing for years across the Amazon, Pantanal, Cerrado, and Atlantic Forest biomes: responsible ecotourism, wildlife monitoring, jaguar reintroduction, and the creation of ecological corridors. With Jaguar Rivers, we will expand our impact even further, strengthening habitat connectivity and supporting the communities that live in these regions. | | | | On August 28th, at JK Shopping Mall, Ellus presented, for the fifth consecutive year, its collection in partnership with Onçafari. The capsule collection features five brand-new t-shirts in black, green, and brown tones. A portion of the proceeds is donated to Onçafariâs conservation projects, combining style with purpose. Onçafari took part in the 1st International Workshop â Conflicts with Big Cats: Risks, Causes, and Solutions, held in Campo Grande (MS). The event aimed to create a space for dialogue among different sectors of society to discuss the challenges and potential pathways toward safer and more balanced coexistence between people and big cats.
Onçafari contributed its hands-on experience in feline monitoring and direct engagement with local communities, serving as one of the workshopâs technical voices. Alongside representatives from civil society, rural producers, researchers, government agencies, and experts from countries such as India, the USA, Chile, Bangladesh, and South Africa, we shared knowledge and debated essential topics such as attack prevention, social and economic impacts, ecotourism, and communication strategies in conflict situations.
The workshop marked the beginning of the development of a technical document outlining guidelines for coexistence with big cats in Brazilâa collaborative effort among various institutions, with the first version set to be released soon. | | | | Onçafari invites you to a special evening in support of Brazilian biodiversity conservation! | Mol Impacto has released the 4th edition of the MOL Guide to Social Products, and the special edition of PremieR Nattu Onçafari earned the highest score, ranking among the national highlights alongside initiatives like AMA Water (Ambev) and the Pink October Tilapia Fillet (Copacol). The ranking evaluated 70 social products sold in 2024, recognizing those that best combine business with social and environmental impact.
Launched in 2024, this initiative introduced exclusive packaging for Nattu, the brandâs super premium pet food line made with natural ingredients and high nutritional performance for dogs and cats. The goal was to raise awareness about the Pantanal and support Onçafariâs work. This action combined purpose, impact, and design - and now, recognition.
Our partnership with PremieRpetÂŽ began in 2020, and following this journey of positive impact fills us with pride! | | | This month, we celebrate two essential professions for biodiversity conservation: Biologist Day (September 3rd) and Veterinarian Day (September 9th).
