Onçafari is beginning a partnership with Aristegui Noticias, one of the independent journalistic portals in Mexico. The platform features the Naturaleza Aristegui section, which covers content on human rights, science, and the environment and has already influenced decisions such as the inclusion of environmental issues in Mexicoâs 2024-2030 National Development Plan.
Founded by the journalist Carmen Aristegui, the portal has established itself as a leader in investigative journalism in the region with an audience of over 25 million followers across its platforms. Beyond its editorial strength, Aristegui stands out for its commitment to the public interest, featuring a plurality of voices, its independence, and providing space to environmental topics in dialogue with science, traditional communities, and climate justice.
This partnership marks a historic milestone for Onçafari; its first international presence in a media outlet, expanding awareness of the Organization's work beyond Brazil. Being featured on a platform as influential and credible as Aristegui Noticias reinforces the power of nature-based storytelling to spark dialogue beyond borders, expanding the reach of the rich Brazilian biodiversity and building bridges between Brazil, Mexico, and all of Latin America. | | | | Building partnerships is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen Onçafariâs conservation mission. Together the parties aim to maintain an active environmental brigade in strategic areas of Aquidauana (MS), CorumbĂĄ (MS), and BarĂŁo de Melgaço (MT) operating over thousands of hectares rich in biodiversity, and home to jaguars, anteaters, tapirs, and other emblematic species of the region.
Created by IHP in 2021, the Alto Pantanal Brigade carries out preventive actions, environmental education, and support for local communities in the Serra do Amolar region. The Brigadeâs activities have expanded to intensify wildfire prevention efforts through its partnership with Oncafari.
