The award, promoted by the Latin American Travel Association (LATA), recognizes professionals who play key roles in the development of tourism in Latin America.

This is the first international award received by Onçafari and represents important recognition for the entire team. We thank LATA and all the partners who support our mission to promote biodiversity conservation in Brazil. In June, Onçafari celebrated nine years since the reintroduction of Isa and Fera, the first jaguars in the world to be successfully returned to the wild. The release, which took place in the Pantanal in 2016, was a milestone for the entire Onçafari team and a significant advancement in large feline management and rehabilitation techniques.

Isa and Fera’s reintroduction demonstrated that through science and careful handling animals that have lost their ability to survive in the wild can be returned back to nature; a vital step forward in biodiversity conservation in a time of increasing environmental threats.
After their release, Isa and Fera fully adapted to the wild. Both became mothers and even grandmothers, strengthening the local jaguar population.

The success of Fera and Isa reinforces Onçafari’s commitment to concrete and long-term actions for the conservation of Brazilian wildlife, always guided by science, dedication, and respect for nature.

The wildfires in the Pantanal left deep scars not only on the landscape and wildlife but also on the collective memory of local communities, visitors, and institutions working in the region. Inspired by this reality, the "Fire Prints" campaign, created by Tech and Soul agency for Unquiet magazine, brought an impactful representation of this environmental disaster into the communication universe. The initiative won bronze in the Design category at the New York Festivals Advertising Awards, one of the world's most prestigious advertising prizes.
The campaign’s power lay in transforming wildfire residue, such as soot and ashes, into art pieces rich in meaning. Images, data, and records of the local fauna visually translated a warning message about human impact on the environment. Much of this content was made possible thanks to the information and images provided by organizations active in the biome, such as Onçafari, whose team was on the front lines fighting the fires, monitoring wildlife, and mitigating damage to the ecosystem.
"Fire Prints" carries this warning into the global creative arena, connecting art, data, and reality. But behind the striking images are the ongoing efforts in conservation, research, and protection; activities that Onçafari continues to develop daily in the Pantanal to keep the biome standing strong.
